the uv in australia is brutal...

the moment i realised my car interior was quietly falling apart along with my standards.

Most people dont realise till its to late.

There was a moment in standstill traffic in the rain on a Wednesday night when I noticed.

The sleek, rich dark interior I once drove in had lost all its life.

The door panels looked like they'd run ultramarathons in the Sahara.

The car itself is fine.

Engine runs clean.
Exterior's polished.

But inside it looks like a car that hasn't been cared for.

There are 3 things that tell you everything about a man.

His environment.

The company he keeps.

And the decisions he makes.

Sat there in that moment, I knew something had slipped.

This wasn't my standard.

But deciding to do something about it that would be my decision.
Don't let yours slip...

I Started Looking Into Why It Happened

Turns out In Australia the UV index regularly sits between 11 and 14 classified as extreme for most of the year.

I hadn't known that.

Most people don't.

What that UV radiation does to plastic and vinyl surfaces isn't what I expected either. It's not fading in the way you'd think. It's oxidisation. The UV is breaking down the bonds deep in the surface itself which is why the colour goes from black to grey, and why the texture goes from smooth to cracked.

I'd been treating it like a cleaning problem.

Wiping it down.

Using whatever was under the sink.

That's not what this is.

A clean is not a restoration. And once I understood the difference, everything else made sense.

I tried Armour All Multiple times over the years.

I tried the Meguiar's spray.

I tried the generic trim dressing from the auto parts store.

it was blessing for a day and then back to grey.

Sometimes the repeated coating left build-up that looked patchy under direct light.

I didn't understand why until I started looking into the chemistry.

Every product on that shelf does the same thing.

They coat the surface with a standard silicone oil that darkens it short term.

The silicone evaporates.

Gets wiped away during cleaning.

And you're back where you started.

These products aren't failures in the conventional sense.

The vicious cycle of buying and applying these products only masked the problem temporarily, all while the damaging effects of UV exposure continued beneath the surface.

The Point?

The repeat purchase cycle is the point.

The problem never gets solved because solving it Long term would end the sale.

That's when I understood what I'd actually been doing.

Not restoring my interior.

Cosmetic Silicone Coverage.

The Fastlane Restore Kit uses a Poly modified silicone resin formula. I hadn't heard of it before I started looking.

Most people haven't.

The Polymer resin gets into the degraded surface and bonds to the substrate at a molecular level.

It fills the micro-damage made by UV oxidation and restores the surface to its original look.

I applied it to the door panel first. Small amount on the sponge. Worked it in, panel by panel.

Then I waited fifteen minutes.

What came back wasn't a surface that had been glossy and darkened. It was the deep factory black I remembered from the day I drove the car off the lot. Matte. Consistent. The texture different  smooth where it had been chalky, uniform where it had been uneven.

That's not something you can unsee.

What Letting It Go Actually Says

There's a certain type of man who treats his car the way he treats everything else in his life.

With Standards.

Services on schedule.

Keeps the exterior clean.

He Doesn't leave things in his life unresolved.

The inside of his car reflects the same he holds everything else to.

When the trim starts to fade that's not just wear.

That's something slipping.

Most men reach for the quick fix.

A  product from servo that gives a week of results and asks you to come back for more.

Fastlane Restore sorts it once.

One 20-minute session.

One jar covers a full interior.

The man who handles things properly the first time and doesn't have to think about it again.

You get in that car with a subtle feeling of pride and alignment the man who strives for that feeling.

That's who this is for.
